“I came here to have an argument.”
“No, you didn’t.”
“I most definitely did!”
“Did not.”
“Did so!”
Discussions and arguments are the lifeblood of human interactions and, to a large extent, the forums of ADVRider. People have questions, and the inmates voice their opinions. When the discussion begins, the interactions are sometimes friendly, sometimes poke fun, and sometimes devolve into something that is… let’s say, less than kind.
Let’s argue!
Take, for example, this quite simple question… What’s the best oil to use in my motorcycle? On its face, it sounds simple, doesn’t it? And if you check out any one of ADVRider’s forums, that question will likely appear, and the discussion or arguments over the best engine oil will ignite. BOOM! But the discussion and arguments don’t stop there.
Many more topics can ignite spirited discussion and argument similar to the “Which engine oil is best?” question. Off the top of my head, I can come up with quite a few discussion/argument topics. I will bet that you can, too. Ready?
- What is the best motorcycle for around the world travel?
- What is the best adventure motorcycle for riding off-road?
- Who makes the best motorcycle tires?
- Which tires are best in the rain?
- What tire pressure should I use?
- How long will a TKC-80 last?
- Which panniers are the best, hard or soft?
- Who makes the best riding clothing?
- Which clothing material is better for layering: polypropylene or merino wool?
- Who makes the best GPS?
- Is Basecamp helpful or the work of the devil?
- What’s the best moto navigation app?
- What’s the best emergency signaling device?
- What should you put in your first aid kit?
I’m sure you get the idea. Motorcycling, particularly “adventure motorcycling,” seems to raise many questions and provides many, many, many more answers. If you want to get into the discussions, head on over to the forums and pick your discussion poison. Oh, and just to make things more interesting, what other topics can you add?
