Is a Honda Trail 125 for you? We’ve had various ADVers describe their experiences in the forum, and rtwpaul famously rode one to all of the continental 48 states. But if you’re on the fence about buying, here’s another perspective from YouTuber SomeGuyRides.

In this case, we’ve got a review that’s based on hard miles along off-road routes like the Trans America Trail as well as back roads and city streets. See above for insight learned over hard miles, and if you want further deets, check out SomeGuyWrites on Substack. There, you can get ride reports that detail the adventures that led to the review above.

Other perspectives

It’s pretty hard to beat rtwpaul’s insight into the CT125 after his all-over-America ride in the summer of 2022. We ran his four-part series here at ADVrider (Part 1Part 2Part 3Part 4). Paul also updated his YouTube channel with information he learned along the way—see his Small Bike Survival Guide here. There’s lots of other useful content on the CT if you poke around his YouTube channel, including a toolkit breakdown, a packing list, and more here.

The crew at Small Bike Stuff also took the tiny Trail on for a review, and considering their familiarity with these types of machines, their thoughts are worth considering.

And of course, we have our own ADVrider forum, with many owners detailing their experiences, whether it’s fitting aftermarket parts or conducting repairs or sharing other useful information. The busiest Trail 125 thread is here. If you’re looking to buy one of these machines second-hand, they seem to regularly appear in the ADVrider Flea Market here.
