Think of the ultimate motorcycle insider—someone who’s had experience in the world of motocross, trackdays, adventure riding, desert racing and touring. And also years in the motorcycle industry, with aftermarket companies, gearmakers and even a major OEM. And also years of experience in motojournalism. Sarah Schilke fits all those descriptions, and this week, she’s on The Lowdown Podcast.
Currently, Sarah is based in Portland, Oregon and works as a VP with SW-Motech (a brand that’s pretty familiar to anyone who’s been around the ADV world for a while). Sarah’s years of experience give her an insight into practical motorcycling questions that few people can match, especially due to her work with the female-focused publication Women Riders Now. Seat height, beginner-friendly bikes, training—she’s seen these questions and analyzed them from different industry angles as well as her own long career as a serious motorcyclist.
